Current Drugstore Foundation Favourites

I always find it hard to find a foundation that I like and matches my skin tone. 

I hate testing in store, I find it cringey, and very messy to open up the little testing pots, which always seem to be covered in crap. 

However, recently I have been catching up on some beauty bloggers, and really 'stealing' ideas from them on which foundations to try on etc, mainly focusing on those who have the same skin tone as me, so I can just buy their shade. Risky I know, but luckily for me its paid off!

The two that I have been loving are both Rimmel, and both amazing!

The first is the Match Perfection, one I feel you will have all heard of. I love this, its so dewy and light. It leaves your skin looking so radiant and healthy without making your skin look cakey. 

The colour range for this is pretty good, as there is a few too choose from if you're of a light to medium skin tone. I wouldn't recommend this for oily skin, as I feel it would just slide off and make your face look shinier than you want. 

This foundation is so build-able and a great affordable price of £6.99.

The next is Rimmel's newest foundation; the Lasting Finish 25 hour. I love this, I have only used it once, but I can already tell it will be a staple in my make-up bag. 

This is a full coverage foundation, that does stay on for quite a long time, even through exercise. I love that this is skin perfecting, balancing out any imperfections and again it leaves your face really glowing and looking healthy. 

This is priced at £7.99, a great price for a new product, and a little bit really does go a long way!

I would 100% recommend this this new product out, if you're on the look for a new foundation.

First Mini-Haul from Revolution MakeUp London

I have seen a lot of fuss about this new drug store brand, Revolution Make-up recently, and was very pleased to see my local Superdrug had started to stock it. 

This brand has been all over twitter and Instagram (I will leave links below) and has been talked about by quite a few infamous bloggers. 

I only picked up a couple of bits, as I was in a rush, and just picked things that caught my eye, however I will be going back as I am desperate to try one of their eye shadow palettes, that look amazing. 

 The first thing I got was a nail varnish in the shade Adore. This is just a really cute purple colour, that I thought would look lovely in the transition from Summer to Autumn. This is quite a deep colour and goes on really well in two coats, leaving a lovely shine, this was £1 and they have a variety of other colours to choose from. 

Next were two eye shadow's, again, I could've grabbed more but didn't really have the time. I picked up a silvery- blue shade, called Frozen (how cute?) and this reminds me of MAC's Electra but for a tenth of the cost. I love this, as an inner corner highlight, or to use with a smoky eye for a more dramatic effect. The next is in the shade Insomnia and is just an amazing glittery dark plum colour, again I thought this would look amazing in Autumn, and Winter too, as its dark but still adds a little sparkle to your eyes. These were both £1 each, and again there are many to choose from. 

Lastly was a cute little blush, in the shade Treat and is just a really cute light orange- coral colour. This is quite orange toned, but looks great on the tops of the cheeks, to give a little colour, perfect for creating that rosy winter cheek, without sticking to the generic pink. This was also £1 is definitely worth the money.

I love the packaging of this new range, its just simple and classic, and good sizes for travelling with, and the best part... If you loose an item, or break something, it doesn't cost a fortune to replace!

The Body Shop Honeymania Lip Balm

I never used to use lip balms, as luckily most of the year my lips don't suffer. But for the occasions they do, this lip balm works wonders. 

This is the Body Shop Lip balm in Honey, and this is like a little pot of lip heaven. It smells amazing, it has that sweet, honey smell without being too overpowering or too smelly. 

Its got a really nice consistency and isn't sticky on your lips or fingers, once you've applied it. 

I love that it's in a handy little pot, that is not only cute, but fits perfectly in any handbag, or make-up bag.

Which Body Shop Lip Balms have you tried? 

MUA Heaven and Earth Palette

This is the MUA Heaven and Earth palette, and I have to confess this now, I love it! This is my second purchase, as I used up my favourite colour, and was really quick to rush out and re-buy it.
This is a beautiful eye-shadow palette with all gorgeous neutral shades, perfect for a light day wear or a heavier night look. The brush it comes with isn't very good, and normally I use a Real Techniques Eye-shadow brush, to get the best of the colours.
This palette is highly pigmented and all shades are full of shine and glimmer. And the best part is... its only £4!!! A real bargain if you ask me.

First E.L.F Cosmetic's Haul

Hey guys, so lately I have been getting into watching different YouTubers than just sticking to the two or three I religiously watch, and one in particular BeccaRose use's a lot of E.L.F products in her tutorials, so I thought I would have a look on their website. I couldn't believe how affordable the brand is, I only got a couple of things just to try out, to see whether I like E.L.F or not, so I thought I would do a mini haul/review.

The first thing I brought was the matte eye shadow in the shade #D29, this comes in a little pot, with a small brush applicator. This is a nice nude colour, great to use as a base or just for a quick tool if you're running out of time to apply full make-up. This is a matte eye shadow that has no shimmer but is still really pigmented, which was £.188

 I also ordered the eyelid primer in the shade sheer, this is just a creme, clear formula used for priming the eyes before applying eye shadow, it locks in the shadow and works and making it last longer on the lids and making the colour much more pigmented. This retails for £1.50, and comes in a variety of shades.

I find it really difficult to find my favourite concealer which is the lasting perfection one by collection, it seems to sell out everywhere, so I thought I would try one from this range as a sort of back-up when I cant find my favourite. This is the Tone Correcting concealer in the shade Ivory, and this was £1.50.

Next was the Waterproof eyeliner pen in the shade Plum, which is a nice deep purple colour, I always think its nice to go for something other than black, and purple, for me, is still quite a safe colour without being to bold. This goes on very smoothly and last's for ages, even better that its waterproof, and cost £1.50.

Lastly, the product I am most looking forward to using, is the Make-up mist and set, which has Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A,C & E. This is in a handy sized bottle, great for your handbag and travelling, especially in hot countries where your make-up needs help to set. This just sprays on the face and keeps your make-up looking fresh the whole day, and this was £3.75.

I am really looking forward to properly trying out these products, and hopefully I have found another Make-up brand I will go back to, because I love their products.

Lush Bathbomb

This is only a little post to show my love for Lush cosmetics, and in particular a bath bomb  I received for Christmas which was called 'Sex Bomb'. It is a beautiful dusky pinky colour, with hints of purple with a baby pink rose in the middle, absolutely gorgeous! The moment you drop it into your bath it begins to fizz and lets off a sweet smelling fragrance, whilst turning the bath water pink. It fizzes for quite a while, and makes your whole bath seem like a tub of bliss, with a floral sweet smell and a pretty pink colouring to the water. This bath bomb makes for the perfect relaxing pamper time to yourself!

Mini Beauty Haul

So recently I have been pretty stressed out with exams and coursework, after handing my last piece in yesterday, I decided to head into Boots to pick up a couple of things as a reward for completing everything. I thought I would do a mini haul just briefly going through the bits I brought, hopefully giving you guys some inspiration to treat yourself too.

The first thing I brought was the Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation, in the shade 52 vanilla. I absolutely love this foundation, it goes on so nicely, with a medium coverage and is really easy to blend. This is now retailing for £9.99 (which I'm pretty sure has gone up from what it was) but I know I will always re-purchase this as it is my every day foundation. 

                                                     

 As Boots where doing a buy one get one half price on Bourjois I opted for the Felt-tip/ eyeliner called Liner Feutre Ultra black, 24 hour lasting. I haven't tried this yet, but I am a big fan of felt liners, and I am running out of my old one which was a Barry M liner, and thought I would try something different. As this was half price instead of being £6.99 it was £3.49, which in my opinion is a complete bargain, so I am looking forward to giving this a go.

The next thing I brought was a real bargain in the clearance section, and it was the No7 Lip crayon in the shade Singing. This is already a favourite of mine, as when I purchased it I didn't realise it was an actual crayon (crazy I know) and it is brilliant. It comes with a sharpener in the lid, which is really handy, and its really moisturizing and super rich in colour, a complete bargain for only £2.

Lastly, the item that I actually went to Boots for was the Loreal Paris Collection Privee lipstick in the shade Cheryl's nude. I have seen a lot of beauty bloggers rave about this and after the stressful week I had I thought I would take the plunge and buy it. It was quite expensive for a lipstick, costing £8.19, which I think seeing as Mac ones aren't much more, its a lot of money. However I am glad I purchased it as its a beautiful nude colour that goes great with any outfit day or night. I would 100% recommend treating yourself to this lipstick, it will now stay in my bag with me forever.

Haul from my weekend in Reading

A few weeks ago, it was my mum's birthday, and to celebrate we went to Reading for the weekend, to shop and visit Highclere Castle (more famously known as the location for the television program Downton Abbey). We had a fantastic weekend, seeing the sights, enjoying good food, and spending money.
I have decided to do a haul, detailing many of the things I purchased. I hope you find this helpful and may even see somethings that you like.

I will start with clothes first, as this was what I brought most of;

Blazer
One of my favourite bargains was a patterned blazer, I recently have become obsessed with the plain black and burgundy blazer's I already own, and as they go with everything,and I decided it was time to add to my collection. I stumbled upon this blazer at Sainsbury's in Reading, and I fell in love with it. It is such a pretty pattern of dark grey and black swirls with three- quarter length sleeves, and I thought it would look great with leggings a long black top and converse. Its one of those patterns that you can wear casually during the day, or dress up to wear in the evening. This was a bargain at £7 in the sale, and I am very happy with my find.


Topshop Jumper
I am becoming more and more obsessed with Topshop, over the weeks, even more so when they email me with tempting sales or new season items, so when I came across this beauty, I didn't hesitate to snap it up! This is a lovely chunky knit, perfect for throwing on,  with leggings and boots and a patterned scarf. It has black sleeves and a cream pattern on the main part of the body. Its thick enough to be really cosy, but thin enough to put a coat on too. Something I look for in a jumper, especially as I hate to be too hot. This was in the Topshop tall range, but it would suit all body shapes and lengths. This again was a bargain at £8, in the sale, although I brought this a while back, I'm sure there are similar styles out there.



Zara Jumper
My hometown doesn't have a Zara, so when I stumbled upon one in Reading, I almost ran. Everything always looks so pretty and clean, and some of the patterns are amazing. Zara was packed with people, as there was a huge sale on, and I didn't know where to look first. After ages of looking, I came across a beautiful jumper (getting prepared for winter). This has plain black arms, and a leopard print sort of pattern with cream and black on the main body. Its very thick and comfy, usually I look for whether a jumper is itchy, as I cant stand that, and this was soft and cozy. this would look great with black jeans, or skirt in the winter, teamed with boots or converse. This was £9.99 reduced from £49.99, I couldn't believe my luck, what a bargain.



Primark
Dress
I brought a cute little dress from the Reading primark, and its so adorable. I fell in love with the pattern and the colours. I have already worn this a few times, once with leggings and converse, and the other with cute little sandals. It is a really good length as it is not too short, and the small cap sleeves make it great for sunny weather. This can also be teamed with a jacket or hoodie, for when it gets a little colder. This was £8 and it comes in a variety of different patterns and colours. This is a must for any girl of any size.




Shirt
This blue shirt, was one that my mum actually picked out for me, and I love it. Its a lovely pale blue cropped shirt with white polka dots, that buttons up the front. It works really well with my complexion, and the brightness in colour goes really well my dark hair and eyes. I teamed this up with a denim high waist flared skirt and tucked the shirt in. its great for all seasons and can even be put under jumpers, with the collars poking through. This was £5, and only comes in the one colour.


Jersey top
Is it possible to be in love with an item of clothing? If you re saying no... you re lying. I've seen a few celebrities in these on Instagram, and thought how comfy they looked. This is a burgundy jersey top, in the American basketball T-shirt style. I use this when I am mooching around the house, having lazy non make-up days. It goes great with leggings, and its so over sized and baggy, its really comfy, perfect for when us ladies are having 'That' time of the month, and we want to be comfortable. This was £6 and comes in different colours, with a variety of slogans on, I picked this one, as I have matching converse, that I could throw on, if I ventured out.




High Neck top
This style of top is not in my comfort zone, as I have an issue with getting my arms out in public, however when I tried this on, it looked really nice and was very flattering. This is a silk style top, with a high neck that buttons at the back, which is also sleeveless. It is cream in colour and has vibrant coloured prints of birds and flowers etc. I have experimented with what I would wear it with, on a night out and I think it works really well tucked into a plain black midi skirt, or even a pencil skirt. This was my bargain of the weekend, and I found this for £2, how great is that?





Accessories 
Bow clip
I have been trying to find new things to do with my hair for ages, and I happened to be in Dorothy Perkins, when I found the cutest bow clip ever. Its a light pastel pink colour, with a silver clip, that is big enough to hold my hair, as I have a lot of thick hair, I need something sturdy. I have played around with some hairstyles and the picture below shows the one I like the most. This came in cream and black, and ranged from £2- £3, which is a really good price, if you re not sure you'll get on with using it.





Clutch bag
One of the things I wanted to buy, before I went back to University, was a new clutch bag, that wasn't too expensive. This was also from Dorothy Perkins, in the sale for £7 and I love it. Its black leather, with a row of silver studs, and it has two compartments when you open it up. The size is great, because when I go on a night out, I take a lot, purse, camera, makeup, keys, phone, little perfume bottle, and some of the shoes in a bag, so I needed a bag that had a lot of space. This is a classic black colour, with a simple design, which I could wear with pretty much all of my clothes.





Toy Story 2 DVD
I am trying to re build my Disney DVD collection, as many of them I only have on video, luckily a lot lately have been really good prices, so each week I buy 1 or 2 films, starting with my favourites. A few weeks ago I brought Toy Story, so when I saw the sequel I had to buy it. It is such a fun film, and just as good as the first one. This was from Sainsburys for £5, which is really good for a Disney film.
